Lunar New Year 2026 + Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

Lunar New Year 2026 + Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

Buckle up...because next week is BIG.

Seriously. It's the most astrology-packed, most life-changing week of 2026. We've been talking about it for months, and it's finally here.

In this article, I’ll explain exactly what’s happening, and how to work with it.

Here's what I'm going to cover:

  1. Next week's collective "new beginning" astrology
  2. What to do about it

TLDR? Take it easy next week.

This week's astro highlights

The Year of the Horse + A Solar Eclipse

Tuesday is Lunar New Year. The Year of the Horse begins - and we (finally) shift from endings to beginnings.

On Friday, this gets supercharged by the once-in-an-epoch Saturn / Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees Aries (i.e. "dreamy" + "build-y" energy at the very beginning of the Zodiac).

This is a double whammy for "new beginnings". And not the gentle kind. The fiery, forceful, rip the bandaid off kind.

Also...Tuesday is a Solar Eclipse πŸ˜‚

So, in a nutshell, there's a lot of big energy. And you're going to feel it.

To be honest, you're probably feeling it already...

because Neptune entered Aries 2 weeks ago. And Saturn's getting close.

Ask yourself:

  • what have I shed in this past year?
  • what dream has been percolating for the last few weeks?
  • what am I feeling called to build?

For me? It's Star Path.

We launched just under a year ago (when Neptune first peeked into Aries) - and now here we are, doubling down & charging ahead in a MUCH bigger way.

This is what Saturn / Neptune in Aries + the Year of the Horse asks of us.

But there's more to the story. Because...

Tuesday's eclipse in Aquarius is the first eclipse on the Aquarius-Leo axis.

This means next week will give you "clues" about the next 18-24 months.

Aquarius is all about the good of humanity (and how we, as individuals, contribute to it). It's a very forward-thinking, futuristic sign.

Combine that with Friday's Saturn / Neptune conjunction and essentially, this week ushers in a new age for humanity. So you aren't just being asked to start something new.

You're being asked to grow in the direction of something that's good for the collective.

Now, eclipses bring sudden endings.

So keep an eye on your Aquarius house.

You might be surprised by a "loss" there in the next few weeks.

But don't worry: eclipse endings are meant to clear the way for growth.

(A personal example: when the eclipse axis first landed in my 4th-10th houses of home vs. career, I literally lost my job. But 18 months later, I launched Star Path :))

How to work with it

1 - Take some time off.

You might feel tired on Tuesday (during the eclipse).

And you'll be processing a lot throughout the week.

2 - Get to know your Aries & Aquarius houses.

Your Aries house = where a new dream is igniting.

Your Aquarius house = where a sudden ending might occur (in service of that dream)

Ask Your Oracle

  • How will Tuesday's Aquarius eclipse affect me? What am I being asked to release?
  • What "clues" will Tuesday's eclipse in Aquarius give me about the next 18-24 months on this nodal axis?

(An Astro FYI: The axis itself doesn't fully shift until August, so next week is just a teaser)

  • What "big beginning" is igniting on 2/20 with Saturn & Neptune directly conjunct in Aries? What dream am I being asked to build?
  • How do I process big astrological energy? How can I support myself when things change quickly, and I'm in an "ignition" process?

Above all? Give yourself some space next week (especially on Tuesday).

It's going to be a doozy, and my prediction is that the fallout may last for weeks.

xo,

Rachel

Frequently Asked Questions

What is astrocartography, and how does it work?

Astrocartography is the astrology of places. By layering your birth chart onto the world map, you turn planetary placements into "lines" - each of which activates the energy of a specific planet. For example: if you live on your Saturn MC line, you'll build your career over time. If you live on your Venus DSC line, you'll experience more harmony in your love life. Star Path is an AI astrology chat platform, so you can explore your astrocartography chart dynamically. Click on a line, measure how far it is from certain cities, and ask open-ended questions like "Where's the best place to live for my health?" Star Path's AI astrologer will consult our ephemeris, use advanced software specific to astrocartography to pull the right data for the AI to reference, and give you a deeply personalized reading. You can then interact with it through chat.

Why is Star Path different from other AI astrologers?

The Pattern, AskSoma.ai, and Sanctuary are astrology apps that use AI. Star Path flips the script: it's a full-scale AI chat platform built on astrology. This means you can use it just like ChatGPT or Claude - for therapy, business strategy, or self-discovery - with all the features of an AI chat platform (plus the rigorously accurate math of a professional astrologer). This lets you go deeper, and immediately use what you learn about your birth chart in practical ways.

What's the difference between Whole Sign & Placidus?

There are many house systems in astrology - and each is good at different things. Whole Sign (the OG house system) uses equal house sizes - and gives each a single zodiac sign. Placidus (a "modern" house system from the 1600's) defines house size based on time - giving them different sizes, and potentially multiple zodiac signs. In some ways, Whole Sign is simpler because it lacks interceptions (i.e. signs that are sandwiched in between two other signs, all in a single house), and gives each life area a single guiding theme. But this can also make it a very powerful system when exploring the deepest yearnings of a soul in this lifetime - the core needs & experiences we're here eto have. Placidus, in contrast, has more complex, layered interpretations. In the view of evolutionary astrologers, having multiple signs in a single house can show us how a life area "evolves" over time. This can be useful as we move through life, and step into new versions of who we are (especially with regard to themes like money, or love, or career). The beauty is: you can use Whole Sign & Placidus together. In fact, the Star Path team believes this is the best way to explore personal growth - because switching systems takes us out of a "story", or echo chamber, and invites us to look at ourselves from multiple perspectives. You might find that Whole Sign resonates most with you during one season of life, and Placidus feels "right" 10 years later. Or, you might prefer planning with Placidus, but personal growth with Whole Sign. Our recommendation: explore both. See what lands, leave what doesn't. And remember...astrology is just a tool for evolution (you're still in charge).

Why is Star Path better than Chani, The Pattern, and AskSoma.ai?

When it comes to AI astrology, Star Path is frequently compared to apps like Chani, the Pattern and Co-Star. But the truth is, Star Path is more than an AI astrologer: it’s a full-scale AI chat platform built on astrology. Traditional astrology apps like Chani and Co-Star feed you astrology; an AI chat platform like Star Path helps you use astrology in daily life. While mainstream astrology apps might help you understand who you are, Star Path lets you go deep so you can reach for your goals, heal what's holding you back, and tactically plan out your next steps (e.g. launches, vacations, big decisions). And because Star Path lets you chat extensively with other people's charts, you can even use our AI astrology platform to improve your relationships. Star Path leverages dynamic, advanced astrology tools for transits, synastry and astrocartography, so you can ask free-form questions (like, "where's the best place to live for career?", or "what's the best timing for me to move?") and explore in-depth answers. You get to guide your own experience, which can feel very different from astrology apps that provide more static information.
