How a Tech Leader Used Astrology to Navigate a Career Crisis
What do you do when the career you’ve spent years building suddenly pivots?
That's what happened toStepheni Mendez - a design leader in the tech industry (& an early Star Path user). Here's how she used astrology to navigate her career crisis:
Stepheni had built a successful career in tech, specializing in UI/UX (user experience) and visual design. Over the years, she learned that she wasn't just a designer; her greatest strengths was actually leadership (specifically around building teams, energizing people, and aligning them around a common goal).
When she first found Star Path, she was already starting to feel the pull toward something new: executive coaching for leaders.
She wanted to help other leaders (especially women) understand who they are, how they lead, and what they’re here to build.
At the same time, she still had a corporate job that paid the bills.
Then, suddenly, her job was in jeopardy. It came out of nowhere, and initially, it was a shock.
So, as a long-time student of astrology, Stepheni came to Star Path (our AI astrology platform) to find out why...and what to do next.
Stepheni knew astrology. What she wanted was a way to actually use it.
Stepheni wasn’t new to astrology when she discovered Star Path.
She’d been studying it for about five years. She’d read books, taken courses, followed moon cycles, and tried many of the major astrology apps (she found The Pattern to be most useful).
But it was kind of a rabbit hole. Her problem wasn't access to astrology info. It was figuring out how to apply all the data to whatever was happening in her life right now.
She said:
“I felt like I could learn something from a book and apply it immediately in my chart, but then when a new situation arose, I didn’t have the clarity to look at my chart and be like, this is what’s happening right now.”
That's tough - because it’s one thing to know your Sun sign, understand your birth chart, or read about an upcoming transit...and it's another to be walking out of your office after getting fired and wondering:

For Stepheni, Star Path finally bridged the astrology-real world gap.
A New Moon opened a much bigger conversation
Stepheni’s first major experience with Star Path began around a New Moon in Pisces.
She started with a prompt about how to work with the New Moon based on the house in her chart it was lighting up. But then, she went deeper. She told Star Path about what she wanted to do next for work. How she was considering executive coaching, vs. joining an AI startup.

The next day, she learned her job was on the line.
The next day, Stepheni was called into a meeting with her boss.
She was told that her job was in jeopardy.
For someone who self-describes as a super Type A, highly successful professional, this was a shock.
So she cried for half a second. And then she started laughing.
Because the night before, Star Path had told her:
“Be ready. Things are getting shaken up.”
So she immediately opened Star Path again.
This time, the career question wasn’t theoretical.
She explained what had happened at work, what she was being told, and how the situation felt (it sucked). Then she asked how to think about it — based on her birth chart, her natural strengths, and her current transits.
Stepheni spent more than an hour strategizing with Star Path.
She explored how her placements could influence the way she negotiated. How she could approach the situation strategically rather than reactively. And how this moment might be connected to a much bigger growth area in her chart around claiming her power.
The result wasn’t simply a better understanding of why this was happening.
It changed how she felt about what came next.
“Understanding that this moment is a gift of power and agency. I literally have no fear in moving forward now.”
This is one of my favorite examples of what Star Path (and applied astrology) can do.
It didn’t disappear Stepheni's career crisis. But it did help her shift from What the heck is happening to me? to:
I understand what’s happening. I know how I want to handle it. And I'm actually excited to move forward.

Her frustration wasn’t a lack of information. It was that there was almost TOO much information - and it was never quite applicable to real life, in the moment.

“Literally nothing else touches Star Path. It’s like having an astrologer in my pocket — but even better because it can go SO deep so quickly.”
When I asked her how she'd compare other astrology appts to Star Path, she said:

That’s what made the difference when she pivoted her career.
Instead of learning about a broader astrology transit, Stepheni could just tell Star Path about what was actually happening to her - and actually process the situation, figure out how her astrology could guide her, and take real next steps.

Stepheni was also talking to attorneys and taking steps to protect herself professionally.
Instead, astrology gave her another layer of information: a way to understand how she wanted to move through the situation as herself.
And that combination — practical action + personalized strategy + a deeper understanding of how she wanted to grow through the situation — gave her way more value than a prediction about "what would happen next" (because come on...astrology can't predict anything. It can only set the table for what MIGHT happen - and how you choose to steer.).
It gave Stepheni the confidence that no matter how things unfolded, she could handle it.
Because astrology doesn’t have to tell you what will happen next to help you navigate what happens next.

When asked how she describes Star Path to other people, Stepheni calls it a guide.

Using astrology for career guidance when it's time to make a change
Career transitions usually aren't short, or simple.
Sometimes you know you’re ready for something different way before you know what that something is. Sometimes the job you used to love starts to feel too small. Sometimes a surprise meeting changes everything.
And sometimes several possible paths appear at once.
