The Sun Transits Leo

Rachel Loewenherz
The Sun Transits Leo

The Sun rules Leo - so when it transits this zodiac sign, it's in rulership (i.e. it's favorite place in the sky, where it can do its best work). It's a supercharged month of shining your light, chasing after your desires, and massive, massive creativity.

The Sun in Leo supercharges:

  • Confidence — the urge to take up space, own your presence, and stop shrinking
  • Creativity — art, play, self-expression in any form
  • Romance & pleasure — flirtation, fun, and unapologetic enjoyment of life
  • Performance — stepping into the spotlight, whether on a stage or in a meeting room
  • Leadership — the natural instinct to take charge and inspire others
  • Joy — like, actual joy. The kind you feel in your body, not just on your vision board
  • Courage — the push to do the thing you've been overthinking
  • Generosity — Leo is big-hearted; this season makes people more warm, expressive, and giving

This transit basically begs you to shine your light brighter, get on a stage, and go after what you want (not just what you think you should have).

In the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun transits Leo transit during the peak of summer. Energetically, it's prime manifestation time, because Leo is rules creative power (whether that's creating art, children, or something else).

And with the 8/8 Lion's Gate Portal just a few weeks away, if there's something you've been working towards all year, now is your time to go big and seize it.

How the Sun in Leo helps you manifest

Leo is the sign of desire. That burning, yearning feeling of being magnetized towards something because you want it so much.

Sound familiar?

The Law of Attraction tell us that if a true, deep desire exists...so does the path to having it. But that doesn't mean "it'll just happen". You have to show up, do the work, and make choices to make the dream real.

This month, you'll feel a surge of energy around doing what's required to manifest your deepest desires.

  • For entrepreneurs? It's a great time for public speaking, big launches, and major features.
  • For everyone else? This is a time to create (Leo loves an artist), make babies (Leo rules pleasure & kids), and generally just show the world who you are.

Here are some other examples of how manifesting with the Sun in Leo might show up for you:

Who You Are How Leo Season Manifests
Entrepreneurs Public speaking, big launches, major features
Artists & Creatives Breakthrough creative output — the work that actually feels like you
Parents Deeper joy and play with your kids; leaning into the fun parts of parenting
Singles Magnetic romantic energy — you're more attractive when you're this lit up
People in relationships Reigniting passion; more playfulness, more presence, more heat
Career climbers Stepping into leadership, asking for the raise, owning the room
Healers & coaches Showing up more visibly; letting your personal story be part of your medicine
Students Bold creative projects; finding your voice in your work
Athletes Peak confidence, competitive fire, physical vitality
Everyone else Create something. Fall in love with something. Show the world who you actually are.

In numerology, 8 is the number of money, and infinite potential. In just a few weeks, we'll reach the "88" Lion's Gate portal (while the Sun is still in Leo).

Now, let's get tactical.

Here are 5 ways to use The Sun's transit through Leo:

  1. Mark your calendar on 8/8 for a Lion's Gate manifestation practice. This is your biggest moment all year to call in what you want!!
  2. Make some art (painting, music, etc.)
  3. Follow your desire - especially towards something you reallllly want to manifest.
  4. Get visible. Go to a party, go on a podcast, and let yourself by SEEN by a bigger group of people than normal.
  5. Be selfish. Do something that's totally for you, just because it feels good - self-care, a "play day", etc. Want to get more specific? Check your Leo house.

This part of summer can mean "fun in the sun".

But Leo invites you to do so much more.

This is peak manifestation time. Ask Star Path to help you use it.

Happy chatting!

P.S. Know someone with big dreams or desires this summer? Send them this article. We all have Leo fire somewhere in our life - and knowing exactly how to activate it is a major edge this month (especially if you're ambitious 😉)

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Whole Sign & Placidus?

There are many house systems in astrology - and each is good at different things. Whole Sign (the OG house system) uses equal house sizes - and gives each a single zodiac sign. Placidus (a "modern" house system from the 1600's) defines house size based on time - giving them different sizes, and potentially multiple zodiac signs. In some ways, Whole Sign is simpler because it lacks interceptions (i.e. signs that are sandwiched in between two other signs, all in a single house), and gives each life area a single guiding theme. But this can also make it a very powerful system when exploring the deepest yearnings of a soul in this lifetime - the core needs & experiences we're here eto have. Placidus, in contrast, has more complex, layered interpretations. In the view of evolutionary astrologers, having multiple signs in a single house can show us how a life area "evolves" over time. This can be useful as we move through life, and step into new versions of who we are (especially with regard to themes like money, or love, or career). The beauty is: you can use Whole Sign & Placidus together. In fact, the Star Path team believes this is the best way to explore personal growth - because switching systems takes us out of a "story", or echo chamber, and invites us to look at ourselves from multiple perspectives. You might find that Whole Sign resonates most with you during one season of life, and Placidus feels "right" 10 years later. Or, you might prefer planning with Placidus, but personal growth with Whole Sign. Our recommendation: explore both. See what lands, leave what doesn't. And remember...astrology is just a tool for evolution (you're still in charge).

What can I use astrocartography for?

You can use astrocartography to plan trips, start new chapters in life, or create experiences that activate different parts of who you are (or who you could be). Because astrocartography is essentially your birth chart layered onto the globe, the energy of planets intersects with places - so you can use it to find places that'll amplify your career, your love life, or even your health and healing. Some popular applications of astrocartography include choosing places to visit or live - especially ones that align with goals you're pursuing, experiences you want to have, or even big transits.

What’s the best way to use this software if I want to eventually become an astrologer myself?

Step one of an astrology journey is to understand yourself. Truly, understanding how different placements, aspects, and transits show up in your own life will give you the most embodied knowledge of how astrology "works". Once you get it for yourself, it's easier to apply it for others (which you can do by chatting with Star Path about people you add to Your Circle). That being said, we also offer Astrology 101 classes as part of our Pro+ plan - so if you want to start a formal learning process, that's a great place to begin.

What house system should I use for my birth chart?

Star Path lets you use either a Whole Sign or Placidus house system - and you should pick the one that resonates most with your life experience. Here are some details to help you choose: Whole Sign is the oldest house system (used by the ancient Greeks). It treats all life areas equally, and gives each a single zodiac sign. For that reason, some people find that it captures the soul's journey in a deeper, more archetypal way. That's why it's our personal favorite at Star Path. Placidus is a "modern" house system (invented in the 1600's). It uses different-sized, time-based houses that contain 1, 2 or more signs. Some people find it to be more accurate, especially for "mundane" matters like planning, because individual charts have more variance (and the interpretation has more layers). The truth is, there's no right or wrong house system when it comes to astrology; there's only the system that feels most true for you. Start with one, explore another, and with time, you might even use both for different aspects of life. In our experience, Whole Sign can be more beginner-friendly, so it's a great starting point if you're new too astrology. But why not try them all?
